Gin no Saji

GIN NO SAJI, or SILVER SPOON, is a story about a fish out of water.Well, actually it's about a city kid who attends an agricultural school.Hachikenis a high school student who is quite obviously totally out of his element from the first day of school.Allof his fellow classmates are farm kids who have plans to take over their family farm business in the future or otherwise have agriculturally-related careers, like becoming a veterinarian. They are all totally dedicated to their goals and have a lot of basic farming knowledge. Hachiken by contrast, has no motivation and no goals in life, and it quickly becomes apparent that he's only at this agricultural high school because he's running away from something.

Surprisingly, Hachiken begins to learn the various aspects of agriculture, and even more surprisingly, he fits in with his fellow classmates. He has a lot to learn, some of it fairly painfully, but he also has some natural leadership ability, and is smart. In addition, he has no qualms about rolling his sleeves up and pitching in, whatever the task may be.His willingness to do all the jobs alongside everyone else, and sometimes his unique perspective on the job, helps him become easily accepted by his peers. And his ability to come up with schemes and to help his classmates out, helps them all become friends. He quickly falls for one of his fellow students a girl named Aki, and he joins the equestrian club to be near her since she loves horses.

" Feelings can become genuine all by accident."-Hei (Darker than BLACK)

I'm a huge shipper. What can I say? A little romance when it's appropriate is really nice. And so, I've complied a few of my favorite anime couples. Some are canon, and some aren't. They are in no particular order despite the numbers because I couldn't POSSIBLY love one more than another:

Kamisama no Inai Nichiyoubi

Hey, remember when light novel adaptations were something to actually be interested in? When they were something more than stories about your sister inexplicably wanting your dick/a harem of teenaged girls inexplicably wanting your dick/your sister in addition to a harem of teenaged girls inexplicably wanting your dick? Remember series like Kino's Journey, Spice and Wolf, and heck, even The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya? Well to be fair I don't actually remember that time, as that was a little before my time as an anime fan (and even if I was I certainly didn't know what a light novel was), but I know of it! I know that there was a brief period where light novels were interesting and original! But alas, no more.

Or so you might have thought, but along came Kamisama no Inai Nichiyoubi (AKA The Sunday Without God), looking and sounding interesting and original! On a Sunday 15 years ago, God abandoned the world. As a result, nobody can die or reproduce - or rather they can die, but continue to live normally, deteriorating all the while. The only people who can give the walking dead their eternal rest are the Gravekeepers, an enigmatic group of people whose powers and shovels can bury the dead for good. Ai Astin, our protagonist and focal character, is a young girl raised in a small village, who is unique in the short history of this era in that she's the only half-human/half-gravekeeper.

Single of the Week: Tabi no Tochuu by Kiyoura Natsumi (Spice and Wolf OP)

Like and , this is an opening I came across coincidentally. I have yet to see the anime Spice and Wolf, although I hear great things about it. Most notably, I hear about the world-building aspect behind the series, which leads it to be constantly compared to Maoyuu Maou Yuusha, a recently airing anime with a similar story and foundation, and an anime I actually did see. However, my main reason for featuring this song on my blog this week is thanks to (your vote counts!) for reinforcing my appreciation of the opening theme to a somber looking anime. What do you think? Should I watch Spice and Wolf?

The Anime Music Tournament 2013 Bracket Jigglypuff

Given the nature of the Pokemon, I wouldn't be surprised if this was a sleep-inducing bracket on initial glance. Thankfully, this is not the case, as the here keep things lively in a good way.

Ongoing Investigations: Case #226

(vol. 1) byis the latest release from Vertical. The story tells the tale of a dark period of history set in and around the Alps in the mid-17th century centered around the (a fortress nicknamed Wolfsmund) and ensuing unrest of the peasant population.

The art of Mitsuhisa Kuji is well suited to details adding a lot to the historical period as well as the setting. I also found her depiction of Wolfram as perfectly unnerving in his clam expressions and easy smile.

Issue #20September 1, 2013North Republic Industries "We speak the truth" THE MESSENGER, WHAT'S HAPPENING?

Well that's right you are wondering what in the world is happening not only to The Messenger but to the entire paper industry. Well we can't say but we can tell you that the Allied Republican was criticized for one of it's main articles and not placing in ads and interviews and that Obito has made a tip about the paper

Industry, "the messenger speaks the truth, the allied republican speaks their mind, and the patriot speaks softly and carries a big stick.", this pretty much says it all and I also include to talking softly to not talking that much at all. But this tip put it very well for the companies. As you can see here we speak the truth.
